Displaying Category Images in App

Categories in the app can be displayed with or without images based on the configuration in the menu in Chewzie back office

Follow these steps to show category images in the category list in your ordering website.

Step 1. From your back office, navigate to 'Chewzie Ordering', then under 'Menu', select 'Menus', then click on your menu.

Step 2. From the default Items view, switch to 'Settings' view

Step 3. From the 'Categories' section, click the 'Show in Category List' box. This step will only enable the category images for mobile devices.

Step 3a. To enable the category images for desktop, switch the 'Advance Settings' button, then check 'Show in Category List' box for desktop images.

Step 4. Lastly, click 'Save Menu' to save the changes.

NOTES

  • If there is no image configured for the category in the menu, then the image of the of the first product in the category is displayed as category image.
  • Enabling 'Show in Item List' option displays the category image in item list page.
  • When 'Default Category Image' is configured, it is used for all the categories in the menu when no image is available for the category instead of using first item image from the category.
